April 2023 Business + Life Review: What I Did This Month, How Much I Made, and What’s Coming Up!

I’m starting something new this month. I love reading monthly and yearly recaps from other business owners so I’m starting a series of my own where I’ll outline how the past month went for me, what worked, what didn’t work, and what my goals for the upcoming month are.

April Business Recap by Mara Kucirek

What I accomplished this month:

  • Two week “Spring Break” from my business where I went into low capacity work mode and we went to visit family – this was amazing and the most time I have taken off from business in a long time
  • Continued working on my new and upcoming Thrivecart Template Shop
  • Started recording episodes for my brand new podcast! More details coming soon!
  • Finally felt some white space in my days – I’ve been super booked out since spring of 2022, which means I’ve had almost an entire year of back-to-back client launches. This month I took on a lot less client work and it was WONDERFUL! I love my business, but since I’m constantly launching new online courses and digital products for clients sometimes it’s tough for me to ever feel like I have white space in my calendar.
  • Used our annual passes to Busch Gardens to get away for the day
  • Finalized and paid my taxes – this one was a bit of a doozy this year. As my business has grown taxes have gotten more complicated.

How Much Money I Made This Month:

$8,250 – This is my lowest month in awhile, which makes sense. I took on a lot less projects this month. It felt good to have some space this month.

My Goals for May:

1. Celebrate my birthday

Right now I’m planning to take most of the day off, get a massage and go to the beach.

2. Launch my podcast!

Yepppp! I’m launching a podcast in May of 2023.

3. Send consistent emails to my list

This is an area where I’ve struggled this year, but this month my goal is to send at least two emails a week.

4. Starting planning and prepping for an upcoming project that I can’t talk about just quite yet

5. Update my course software quiz

Current list of software and tools I use to run my business:

…and that’s a wrap! April was a good month. May has a bunch of exciting (and slightly scary projects in it).
